Special Project for the Central Axis of Alto do Lumiar, Alta de Lisboa, 2000, Lisbon

System of equipment and graphic visual communication.

To upgrade the image of the so-called “central axis” and secure the unity of the whole, a plan for the composition and pattern of pavements was proposed, in coordination with the specification of the colour schemes to be used in the architecture, whose concept is based on two assumptions. The first concerns encouraging the inclusion of the development in the image of the city of Lisbon – identified with the “history of walks”, a cultural and, above all, humanizing element of the daily life of the public space – and the second involves establishing a continuity line with the predominant geometric mode in the neighborhood.

The urban furniture project developed, along with the design of equipment included in the detail of the urbanism, will take the same graphic matrix as a geometric rule.

The Comendador Collection, the result of the objects designed for Alto do Lumiar (Lisbon), remains today among the outdoor furniture lines, presented by the Atelier Daciano da Costa, produced and marketed by Larus.
