Wooden furniture system for the homes of bank employees, 1963

Intended for the homes of employees of bank branches located in áreas with limited resources – in the interior of the country or in the territories of former colonies –, this furniture would, in some cases, also be used in the banks themselves. The project was developed with a view to being able to construct them in their target destinations and using materials that would predictably be available there. This justifies the decision to opt for traditional, artisanal construction and the use of solid wood: sophisticated technical solutions were rejected and there was no dependenc on industrially processed materials (laminates, composites or veneers).
