National Laboratory of Civil Engineering, 1971, Lisbon

Interior Architecture and furniture of the congress room, meeting rooms, main vestibule, library, cafeteria, exhibition room.

In the LNEC furnitur, linear metal structures predominate. The cantilever chairs, used in the library and the conference and meeting rooms, are direct heirs of the models put forward by the trends of the beginning of the century. The rejection of auditorium chairs fixed to the floor, meanwhile, represents an option for multi-functional use of these spaces.

Later on, for the architectural project, equipment and furniture design of the Cultural Center of Belém (1990-1992), Daciano da Costa proposed the use of a set of other models, originally designed for very different buildings, but which had already gone into production: Alvor-Grill (1966-1968), Palácio and Flos (1970-1971), Quadratura-LNEC (1971-1972), Fundação (1966-1969).
