Terreiro do Paço, Arquitectura e Construção, 20 March 2010

The article in Arquitectura e Construção magazine discusses the requalification project of Terreiro do Paço, designed by the Daciano da Costa atelier, which modernizes the river station while preserving its historical and architectural significance. Inaugurated in 1932 by Cottinelli Telmo, the terminal serves as a central hub for passage and gatherings in Lisbon. The intervention restores the original building, transforms the former luggage hall into a spacious atrium, and constructs a new area for services and commerce, integrating harmoniously with the surroundings. Materials such as tiles, lioz stone, white plaster, and glass enhance the traditional aesthetic, while lighting creates a welcoming atmosphere, combining functionality with the preservation of the site’s historical memory.
