CCB Twenty five years, (ed.) Nuno Grande, 2018

This edition celebrates the 25th anniversary of the CCB's public opening (1993-2018), but it is also a pretext to ask what was in the genesis of this iconic work. The book revisits the debate opened by the building design competition , the vicissitudes of the construction of the winning proposal - by the architects Vittorio Gregotti and Manuel Salgado - and Francisco Caldeira Cabral's landscape architecture, the interior design signed by Daciano da Costa, but also the collection of works of art, brought together to fill its different spaces. It counts with the contributions of two invited creators: the illustrator Ana Aragão, who develops a series of ironic prints on the architectural and urban symbolism of this set, and the photographer Daniel Malhão, which publishes its portfolio of CCB images. The book finally includes unpublished interviews with Francisco Caldeira Cabral, Manuel Salgado and Vittorio Gregotti. From these different authorial and disciplinary perspectives, this edition seeks to dispel some "myths" created around the conception and construction the Belém Cultural Center.
