Daciano da Costa, when discussing his work at the Centro Cultural de Belém, clarifies the relationship between Architecture and Interior Design, emphasizing that there is no clear disciplinary distinction between these fields. Design introduced a distinct methodology, more rational and associated with the Modernist Movement, which is reflected in the adaptation of spaces and the response to new social and functional needs. Daciano da Costa highlights that Interior Architecture deals with the reorganization of spaces, preserving structural integrity, while Equipment and Furniture Design involves creating specific pieces that complement the environment. At the Belém Cultural Center, his intervention focused on solving specific issues related to finishes and equipment, without significant structural alterations, describing his work as an "interpretation" of a complex architectural score.
